Patch the Quake 4 game with the Quake 1.4.2 Patch installer which is available for download from
id Software »
Do not use the update function within the game.
You must install the Quake 1.4.2 patch in order for the HaptX Mod to work. The Mod will not run without the patch.
The Singleplayer and Multiplayer Mods are two separate mods. The installer will install both (HaptXQuake4Mod.exe)
RUNNING THE HAPTX MOD
Both the Singleplayer and the Multiplayer Mods can be started from the Windows Start Menu or the Desktop icons.
MULTIPLAYER QUICK-START GUIDE:
Click 'MULTIPLAYER'
Click 'CREATE SERVER'
Choose game level; we recommend 'THE FRAGGING YARD 1v1'.
Choose Server Type: LAN (or Internet, depending on your local network setup)
Click 'CREATE SERVER'
